Educational background?
Graduated from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Sociology.

How did you first hear about 4Cats?
I discovered 4Cats when I picked up an issue of 4Cats Magazine.

Why 4Cats?
The 4Cats environment is a perfect balance of organization, creativity and fun which are all things I strive to bring to my own children’s lives on an everyday basis.

What is your favorite color?
Wow, it’s impossible to pick just one… turquoise with tangerine and magenta being a close second and third

Favorite art quote?
Creativity belongs to the artist in each of us. To create means to relate. The root meaning of the word art is “to fit together” and we all do this every day. Not all of us are painters but we are all artists – Corita Kent

Who is your favorite artist and why?
Horace Pippin, because he was a self-taught artist who used his gift of creativity to educate about the injustices of slavery and American segregation. I am also inspired by the works of Jean-Michel Basquiat because I love his neo-expressionist graffiti style of art.

What is your favorite medium?
I love to work with clay – it is the most relaxing and rewarding way for me to create.

Any other interesting facts we should know about you?
I am a dedicated human rights activist who believes in the transformative power of art as a catalyst for social change. I am also a mother of two beautiful little girls who inspire me everyday to reach my fullest potential as an educator, mentor, caretaker and role model.
