Roy Lichtenstein is one of the most famous pop artists of all time. His most famous artworks are bright and colourful paintings of scenes from comic books. At first, no-one knew what to think about these paintings, but soon his work became really popular. Roy Lichtenstein’s paintings are very easy to recognise. They are usually painted in black or white or in the primary colours of red, blue and yellow, and a lot of his paintings are very, very big! Most of his pop art paintings look very neat, with thick black outlines and huge dots called Benday dots.
