Edgar Degas painted beautiful paintings full of colour and movement. People said his paintings danced! Degas’ most famous paintings are of ballerinas and horses. Edgar is famous for his workin in painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing. Edgar was friends with many Impressionist painters, but wasn’t an impressionist himself. He preferred to be called a Realist, as he painted scenes from real life.
